Michael is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, life transitions, parenting issues, religious trauma, and sexual trauma. With over eight years in social work and five years of therapeutic practice, he brings extensive experience working with clients of all ages in various settings, including a trauma therapy center, rural mental health clinic, youth development agency, and refugee services agency in Central Europe.

Michael holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Research Foundation, where he studied under leading experts. He has advanced training in EMDR and Theraplay (an attachment-based play therapy for families) with additional training in immigrant-focused Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), family therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and nervous-system oriented methods of regulating distress.

Taking a relational and nervous system-oriented approach, Michael works to expand individuals' capacity to navigate and alleviate challenges and distress while simultaneously growing our collective capacity for connection, joy, and humor. He specializes in working with LGBTQ+ community members and men who have experienced sexual abuse and immigrants/multicultural individuals.

Michael works with individuals ages 16 and above and speaks both English and German fluently.

Currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work, Michael is seeing clients virtually. Outside of work and studies, he enjoys the music and the performing arts, exploring coffee and chai shops, and snuggling with his two kitties.

Michael is available virtually on Wednesday evenings, and Thursday and Friday mornings/lunch.
