Jessica Blackwell, LPC-MHSP (temp)
Jessica works with clients ages 10+, and specializes in both general anxiety and performance-related anxiety, as well as tendencies such as overthinking and perfectionism, relationships, life transitions, depression, work stress, identity, and self-esteem issues. Jessica is committed to an open-hearted and non-judgmental approach and will support you in skill-building, self-understanding, and healing. She works through a trauma-informed lens and is trained in EMDR, a modality that can be helpful in addressing what stands in the way of living life fully and presently. Jessica also has a special interest in supporting those who have been in relationship with people who have narcissistic traits.
Jessica received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in 2023, completing the child/adolescent track. She is also a professional violinist; she has a deep understanding around the pressures of an intense job and pursuing a 2nd career, as well as the unique challenges musicians face. Jessica currently teaches a course regarding mental health and musicians, a course she created, at Vanderbilt University.
Jessica welcomes people of all backgrounds and is committed to maintaining a safe space for clients to share what makes them uniquely them. In addition to her work as a therapist, Jessica enjoys making music, occasional bursts of DIY inspiration, cultivating knowledge and sharing it with others, and being silly with her two pups, Lily and Jake. Jessica has day/evening availability, both virtual and in-person, Tuesday-Saturdays.
