Alexa is a Master of Social Work Candidate with five years of experience in the mental health field. She previously worked at the Nashville Sexual Assault Center as a Client Navigator from 2019 to 2024 and is currently enrolled as a graduate student in the University of Tennessee Knoxville’s College of Social Work. Alexa is poised to graduate with her Master’s Degree in May 2025 with a concentration in Clinical Practice and a Trauma Certificate.

Alexa deeply believes that each individual is the expert on themselves. She views the therapeutic relationship as mutually participatory, vulnerable, and authentic. Connection, community, and safety are integral to the healing process, so you can expect Alexa to be present in each session with these tenets at the forefront of her mind. Alexa’s approach is relational, anti-oppressive, culturally humble, casual, sex-positive, and gender-affirming. While she has specifically worked with victim/survivors of sexual violence and complex trauma, she is excited to accompany folks ages six and up on all forms of healing journeys.

Alexa uses trauma-informed, relational, strengths-based, and system approaches to gently assist folks in navigating life's challenges. She does not believe there is a "one-size-fits-all" type of therapy, so she will collaborate with you to tailor an approach that fits your unique needs. Everyone is worthy of experiencing safety, connection, and healing within themselves and their external environment. Alexa hopes to foster these experiences through gentle guidance, humor, and authenticity.

Outside of the office, Alexa fills her cup by spending time with her partner, friends, family, and two cats. With the belief that community care is essential to thrive, you can find Alexa organizing alongside others in the Nashville community. You can also find her enjoying her garden in the sun, moving her body through dance and yoga, or taking on a new DIY or crafting project.
